Welcome Letter - Mrs. Meara
Dear Families and Students,
Welcome to 6th grade! I am so excited to have you join the MMS family this year! As I embark on my 26th year teaching in Marlboro, I reflect on how much being a part of this community has meant to me. It is truly a privilege to continue growing and learning alongside our students and families.
I have always believed that reading is like breathing in—taking in new ideas, perspectives, and experiences—while writing is like breathing out—expressing our thoughts, feelings, creativity, and unique voices. I absolutely love teaching Language Arts because it gives students the opportunity to discover the power of words and explore worlds outside their own. My hope is to share that love and excitement for reading, writing, and language with my students and help them see themselves as readers, writers, thinkers, and creators. There is nothing more rewarding to me than watching a student become excited about a book, find confidence in their writing, or realize that their ideas and voice matter.
Throughout my career, my co-teaching experiences in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classrooms have shaped my approach to teaching—one that is student-centered, compassionate, and focused on fostering lifelong learners. I am looking forward to a fantastic year filled with curiosity, creativity, collaboration, laughter, and, of course, lots of reading and writing!
Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. I look forward to working together to make this a memorable and inspiring year for all of us!
All assignments and important class information will be posted on my Google Classroom for students to access.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tara Meara
