PERFORMING MUSIC GROUPS


Students may choose to audition for and may be selected to participate in, Wind Ensemble, Chorale, and Jazz Band.


WIND ENSEMBLE ­Grades 7 & 8 - Wind Ensemble is an auditioned group selected from the general band population. Only those students who are members in good standing are eligible to audition. Wind Ensemble is open to students in grades 7 and 8 only. Auditions are held in June for the following school year. Rehearsals are scheduled, during the school day, for 2 of the 6 day Related Arts Cycle. Members must also be enrolled in their regular grade level band. The Wind Ensemble rehearses after school every Wednesday from 2:30-4:00.  The Wind Ensemble performs at the winter and spring concerts, various community events and adjudications during the school year. Students receive a letter grade on their report card every marking period.

CHORALE Grades 7 & 8 - Chorale is an auditioned group of 7th and 8th grade singers.  All students wishing to audition for Chorale must be enrolled in their grade level Chorus.  Chorale rehearsals will take place during the school day as a scheduled class and after school one day a week.  After school rehearsals will take place on Wednesdays from 2:30 - 4pm.  Chorale performs at the Advanced Ensembles Winter and Spring Concerts, various community events, and participates in adjudications during the school year.

JAZZ BAND Grades 7 & 8 - Jazz Band is an auditioned group selected from the general band population.  Only those students who are members in good standing are eligible to audition. Jazz Band  is open to students in grades 7 and 8 only. Auditions are held in June for the following school year.  There are no rehearsals during the school day.  Students are expected to attend one after-school rehearsal per week on Tuesdays, from 2:30-4:00.  The Jazz Band performs at the winter and spring concerts, various community events and adjudications during the school year.
