Meet the teacher, a bit.

Hi ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to 6th Grade!

So, I like words. There, I've admitted it. Total word nerd. And as such, I will try to convey to our class the nuances of our language in hopes that my appreciation of all things language arts is contagious.

I'm a stickler for organization! As long as you come prepared to learn--and to apply what you've learned--each day, we will have a successful year. To that end, a very important supply that should be used frequently is an independently chosen book. It is always evident when someone reads frequently; it comes through in all forms--from writing skills to conversational skills.  I look forward to a productive year.

This is my nineteenth year teaching at Marlboro Middle School. In that time I've seen MMS consistently raise the bar for all members of our school community and provide the means for exceeding expectations.  During the 2010-2011 school year, I was honored to be named the Teacher of the Year by my colleagues. This is a distinction that I will cherish, always. I am proud to be a part of such a dedicated, capable, and generous staff. What I have experienced in this district has confirmed that it is a prestigious school system with students who are enthusiastic about learning.
