Welcome to my class website!  Here you can access links, documents, homework, and so much more! This year we will be reading numerous engaging short stories, novels, and nonfiction texts in class. In reading class, be prepared to make inferences, use the text for support, determine central ideas and themes, examine text structure, analyze an author's point of view, and evaluate evidence. An emphasis will be placed on close reading, and we will continue to use the Achieve3000 Program. For writing, get ready to write narrative, explanatory, and argumentative pieces. You will learn various writer's craft techniques to enhance your writing.  We will also participate in the National Public Radio's podcast contest!
