Hello Parents and Guardians,

Since each student in the district has been placed on Home Instruction due to COVID-19, as of my return date of June 1, 2020, I will be posting the instruction and instructional activities on my Google Classroom for each day that school is not physically in session.  I will also be online and available by email at (insert email) from  9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to answer any and all questions you may have.  Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns you have. Please send any building level questions to either our principal or vice-principal(s).  We will all be here to support your children and our community during these difficult times.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Scalici

Please note:

The distribution of graded assignments are indicated in the Homework Page. They do not require a parent/guardian signature. Please continue to review these assignments together at home. For a running average, as well as the points earned for individual assignments, please see the Parent Portal from Marlboro's website.

Biography:

Welcome to English Language Arts. My name is Mrs. Scalici, and this is my fourteenth year at Marlboro Middle School. I attended Montclair State University, where I received a B.S. in Business Administration and graduated Magna Cum Laude. I worked in the business field, but was not content and decided a career in teaching is far more intrinsically valuable. Thereafter, I attended Kean University and obtained my certification as a K-12 English teacher, maintaining an even higher GPA than before.

I love being able to get up in the morning every day excited about my career and truly appreciate being able to be a part of all of your children's lives. I have been recognized by the Marlboro Board of Education for my dedication and commitment to excellence and am truly looking forward to working with you to make this a terrific year.

A Message From Your Teacher: 1

Hello students! This year you will read challenging, complex literature and informational text, conduct close, analytic reading, compare and synthesize ideas across texts, acquire new vocabulary, write clear, cohesive essays on a range of topics, improve speaking and listening skills, and much more. I believe strongly in active participation and cooperative learning and expect all my students to use the resources I give them to strive to do their best. Please help me in accomplishing this goal.

Remember you must do your best to be a success! sdjh
